Happy New Year, friends!
As always, with a new year comes everyone thinking of different ways to remodel their life. New Year's 'resolutions'. But honestly..if they didn't work last year, or the year before, OR the year before...what makes you think they are going to work now? Of course when I was little I had silly little 'resolutions' like quite biting my nails. Did I ever quit biting my nails? Nope. I still bite them to this day. Eventually I gave up on New Year's and trying to improve this or that. Last year I gave it another shot, except there were no 'resolutions'. They turned into goals. There were two, and both of them I stuck to pretty well.
Number one: Get closer to God and be in His word daily.
Number two: Get healthy.
I think when you set yourself up with resolutions, you're setting yourself up for failure. But when you set goals, things that you would really actually love to achieve, they become a reality. This past year has been one of the toughest years, but also one of the best years of my life. With a new year resting upon my shoulders, I have new goals that I would like to set and also achieve.
Number one: Go where ever God leads me to, with no hesitation.
I know this year holds a lot for me and I feel as if God has already communicated that to me. I have a feeling that He is going to take me out of my comfort zone more than I would like to be, but I know that God's will is the best for me and my life and the other people around me. So I will do what I am asked to do from Him.
Number two: Be healthy. That means drink 8 glasses of water a day, eat enough fruits and veggies, exercise a few times a week. We as Christians should treat our bodies like the temple of God. I am not doing that if i'm being sluggish and lazy and eating junk.
Number three: Spend more quality time with my family.
A recurring theme in my goals is to bring God all the glory. My prayer for this year is that I can display the wonder, beauty and majesty of my King to all who are around me. I want them to wonder what I have and want it, too.
Hurray :-)
ReplyDeleteMy resolutions aren't really resolutions either... they're more like challenges- to see what I am really capable of. I will probably create more as the year goes on... with the hope of building habits along the way.
Our bodies and minds do belong to God- I am proud of you for taking the steps to take care of both!! :)
