monday happiness # 1.

Today...

I finished my first college class. ENC 1101 is history and I'm seriously geeking out about it. I only have to pop my head in next Monday to receive my grades, but I'm such a happy college student right now. I already feel like I have so much more time on my hands. It's a beautiful thing.

The sun is shining, the wind is blowing, and there isn't a cloud in the sky. It's days like today that actually make me appreciate living in Florida.

I am helping my mom cook dinner. We are having chicken, green beans, rice, and pumpkin pie for dessert.

I am missing Minnesota in a big way. My best friend from camp, Annie, sent me a cell phone photo of a brilliant bright red tree in her front yard. She said she wished I could be there in real life to see the colors of fall. I wish that so much right now.

I lit a candle with a match for the first time in my life. Not without burning myself, throwing a lit match down on the counter, and having my mom freak out. So I tried it again and I was successful. It was a momentous time in my life. Fire has been one of my greatest fears. Maybe I'm getting over that one, too.

Just a little glimpse into my day. What about yours? What were some things you enjoyed about today? I'd love to hear about them.

Edit: I will be doing a Monday Happiness blog, well...every Monday. It's the beginning of the week, and quite possibly the most difficult day of the week for me. What better way to stay positive than focus on the joyful goings on of Monday's?

  1. Hooray for finished classes and pumpkin pie and candles!

I enjoyed driving home with the windows down, cool wind in the car, watching the sunset and forcing everyone on the highway around me to listen to Sufjan Stevens. That, and I made chili tonight. =)

  2. Today, I enjoyed realizing that I'm not as disorganized as I thought I was. Such a great relief.

As you can probably see, I'm catching up on blogs. So today, I'm also enjoying reading words from you.
