little debby.

Dear Debby,
You were the little storm that could. Thank you for your rain, your wind and your gusto. It was the perfect way to end my week-and-a-half long break. You provided me with relaxation, cozy time in bed with a book (or three), the opportunity to see two movies at the theater, and the longing for winter. You were just what I needed. But...you are on your way now, and I am happy to see the sunshine again.
Love,
This little Floridian

a day in the life of a college student.

I'm borrowing this idea from Nessa. I saw her day in pictures and I just had to give it a go.
So, here's my day (today) in photos.
6:30-7:30: Drag myself out of bed, stumble into the kitchen, eat breakfast, jump in the shower, get ready for the day.

7:30: Hop in the car and drive to school.

8:00:
Marketing class. I would have taken a photo, but it's a live TV class (the class is broadcast across all the various campuses, and I didn't want to be awkward taking a photo).

9:15: Homework time in the lab.

11:00: College Algebra class.

12:30: Lunch at the Starbs (I don't eat here all the time. I had a gift card.).
1:30: More math homework in the lab.

3:00: Driving home. Almost done for the day.
3:30: Walking the pup.
5:00: On a run! Whoop!
6:30: Dinner time. We ate grilled chicken and salad, but my camera went all wonky, and I couldn't get a photo.
8:00: In my pajamas, sitting on my couch, writing this blog post.

The times and everything obviously vary, and I'm definitely not in my pajamas by 8:00 every night, but today just went really well on the homework front.

I really enjoyed doing this, though!

little bits of life...instagram style.

I'm already up to my neck in homework, so that leaves me not much time to think about a post. So I figured I would leave you with some photos I've snapped in instagram over the past week or so.

This notebook has so many various memories inside of it. Concerts and trips and...everything!

A cold front came through last week. We got into the low 30's. In Florida!
This was snapped as it was rolling in.

Winter sunset.

Snuggling with the sweetest baby girl ever.
Study session. Chocolate makes everything better!
This is the cat I talked about here. Isn't he/she/it pretty?
I got a new dress for Christmas and finally busted it out this past Sunday for church. Aaaaaand I'm obviously a geek.
We had a scare last night with Spookie. She's been sick since last May. It's heart breaking and so very sad, and I'm not really sure how much longer she'll be with us, but she seems okay today.
Uhm...hello?! Strawberry season in the sunshine state! Yes, yes, yes!!!
Aaaaand it has really begun. My desk is already a disaster. I should do something about that...

friday senses.

One of my all-time favorite bloggers, Sheena, started Friday senses up last year sometime, but I never put my own two cents in. Well, why not now?

Friday senses are a culmination of your favorite things you tasted, smelled, heard, etc. throughout the week.

(instagram photo)
Tasted: This homemade peppermint mocha concoction my mom stirred up in the kitchen. She used cocoa powder, milk, a melted candy cane, and some mocha coffee. It was so yummy! The perfect hint of peppermint and coffee and a whole lot of chocolate! It was like a spiced up cup of hot cocoa.
Touched: The sweetest kitty cat that has been hanging around in our back yard for the past couple of weeks. I finally went out last night to see if kitty would come up to me. So sweet!
Smelled: New textbooks. The Spring semester started up yesterday. I love the smell of new books. And old books. Just...books.
Heard: Our bird chirping away. We had some really cold (for Floridian standards) weather come through a few days ago, so we've had to keep her inside. She chirps. and chirps. and chirps chirps chirps all.day.long.
Saw: The bright bright blue skies. And the orange orange orange sunsets. Cold weather is the BEST!

What were you sensing this week?
Feel free to play along in the comments or on your own blog. Make sure you link up, so I can come check it out!

christmas came.

Merry belated Christmas everyone!
I've been plagued with a really nasty sinus infection since last Tuesday. When I haven't been laying in bed, I've been lounging around on the couch under blankets. This has caused me to watch way too many episodes of Boy Meets World on youtube, and taken me back to my ten or eleven year old self. Well, it is winter vacation after all, right?

Christmas came and went somewhere within the last week, and it was an enjoyable time. Even through the three and a half boxes of tissues and two toilet paper rolls I went through by blowing my nose. I managed to get into a walk-in clinic on Monday and got a good dose of antibiotics. A shot, a steroid to make sure the shot does its job, an antibiotic AND cough medicine. So naturally, I am on the mend.

We still managed to have fun and put our new Christmas games to good use. Can anyone say Intense Jenga? We can!
And! We got this fun game called Headbanz...anyone heard of it? We can tell you all about it. It brought us much side splitting laughter. Whether you're actually playing it, or just watching from the side lines, you can't help but let out a hearty laugh.

My most favorite Christmas gift looks a little something like this...

I'm already addicted. I've barely been able to put the little device down. I've seriously got it really bad. I believe in Apple. Thanks Steve Jobs!

And now you'll all get to see what I've snapped in Instagram so far. Love that little app.

How did you spend your Christmas?
