Happy first day of October, everyone!

The day welcomed us Floridians with a nice break from the terrible humidity. It was so wonderful to wake up this morning and see that my Mom had the door to our back porch opened. That is always a welcoming sign for what's to come. It was just such a beautiful day today. I wanted to spend as much of it as possible outside. It was a great day to rejuvenate and re-energize me from the chaos that my days have been for the past few months.

For example:
I slept in until 9:30 this morning.
Cleaned my house.
Did my laundry and hung it up on the line (because our dryer is still broken).
Listened to the birds sing.
If I knew how to whistle, I probably would have whistled while I worked.

Really, it was just a wonderful day to appreciate the simple things in life. The things that I don't get to stop and enjoy through out the week while I'm rushing from class to class, or locked up in my room for hours doing homework. I'm praising God for today and the beauty that he supplied me with. I'm grateful for the lower humidity and the beautiful sounds of the birds chirping. It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood, indeed.

things I thoroughly enjoyed today:

1. Sleeping in past 8:00, if only until 8:30. Yes, that is most definitely sleeping in to me.
2. Feeling the promises of fall in the air through the breeze.
3. Having the house to myself for half of the day, with no one distracting me.
4. Therefore I fulfilled my hopes of having a day for just me and getting through the burned out feeling i've been having.
5. Diving head first into the world of Narnia and the magic that lies within the pages.
6. Laundry.
7. Listening to Jason Gray while folding laundry and then sitting on my bed for a few minutes after I was done just to hear my favorite song on the extended version.
8. Drinking sweet tea that I made.
9. Making myself a wrap for the second day in a row. This can be our little secret. ;-)
10. Making healthy choices for dinner by eating a salad.

What are then things that you did today that you absolutely loved? I'd be delighted to know.
