first and foremost, happy birthday to my wonderful mom! thank you for everything that you have done for your family. every single bit of it is appreciated! i love you so much!

for my mom's birthday she got to choose what she wanted to do. she decided that she wanted to go hiking at a state park about 30-35 minutes away. so we packed up a picnic lunch and hopped in the car and were headed on our way. we got there and enjoyed our lunch, and then headed out for the walk. it turned out to be a 3 1/2 miles. my shoes were not made for walking, so i came away from some hurting feet, but that's besides the point. i'm just so happy that we had a great day, and that my mom got to do something that she thoroughly enjoyed. she deserves it!

now, we are having a leisurely evening at home. my brother is going to cook us a yummy dinner, and we will celebrate my mom!
